The Story Behind Amaretto

Behind every sweet creation, there’s a story—and mine was born from curiosity, creativity, and a genuine desire to make something special.

I’m Vanessa Rodríguez, founder of Amaretto, a lover of all things handmade and heartfelt.

I’ve always enjoyed crafts and anything artistic. One day, I decided to figure out how to bake a cake for a childhood friend’s birthday. I searched online for answers, but back then, resources were limited—so my mind and heart had no choice but to invent and reinvent.

I found a recipe for fondant and gave it a try. After baking the cakes for nearly four hours at a very low temperature (the oven had never been used and was terribly miscalibrated!), something unforgettable happened—
I heard the surprised voices of my friends and family amazed at what I had created without any previous experience.

That moment sparked something in me.

It was the beginning of this journey, and now, almost 20 years later, it still inspires everything I do.

But one thing that has always been a challenge is finding what I need to decorate my cakes—especially at the last minute. Most local stores don’t carry specialized supplies, and I often found myself relying on large chain stores (that rarely have what I need) or online platforms that take several days to deliver—unless you pay for a membership.

But what if you need it today? I’ve had to drive long distances and spend hours just to find a few simple items.

That’s why I decided to fill that gap right here in my community—serving Davenport, Haines City, Clermont, Champions Gate, and surrounding areas.

Amaretto was born from that story—a brand built on the joy of creating, sharing, and celebrating with handmade, heartfelt details.
