The Story Behind Amaretto

Behind every sweet creation, there’s a story—and mine was born from curiosity, creativity, and a genuine desire to make something special.

I’m Vanessa Rodríguez, founder of Amaretto, a lover of all things handmade and heartfelt.

I’ve always enjoyed crafts and anything artistic. One day, I decided to figure out how to bake a cake for a childhood friend’s birthday. I searched online for answers, but back then, resources were limited—so my mind and heart had no choice but to invent and reinvent.

I found a recipe for fondant and gave it a try. After baking the cakes for nearly four hours at a very low temperature (the oven had never been used and was terribly miscalibrated!), something unforgettable happened—
I heard the surprised voices of my friends and family amazed at what I had created without any previous experience.

That moment sparked something in me.

It was the beginning of this journey, and now, almost 20 years later, it still inspires everything I do.

For me, baking has always been about more than just cakes—it’s about creating moments of joy, connection, and celebration. Over the years I’ve experimented with countless recipes, but I found myself dreaming of desserts that were fun, layered, and full of personality.

That’s how the Boom Cups were born: indulgent 12oz cups layered with cake or brownie, creamy fillings, and toppings that surprise you in every spoonful. From there, the idea grew into Boom Cakes to share with family, and Cupcakes to enjoy anytime.

Today, Amaretto is all about bringing those sweet experiences to our community—right here in Davenport, Haines City, Clermont, Champions Gate, and beyond.
